I know the picture is a bit dark, but its the only one I have right now. I lost our camera...and that is why there haven't been any pictures on here for a while.
Anyway, this picture is from Sunday at AIDS Walk SF 2007. I decided to walk this year for Mike's dad Mel, who died of HIV/AIDS about 12 years ago. This was my first year doing it and surprisingly it was the most successful California AIDS walk to date-over 25, 000 walkers and more than 4.5 million dollars raised for AIDS research. A pretty staggering dollar ammount-I am proud to have been a part of it, and hope to make it a yearly event--adding baby and hopefully Mikey next year!
So as you can see baby is growing... I have another Dr. appt today, don't know how much I weigh these days, but at this point I really don't want to know!! Dr. appts these days are pretty uneventful, we just listen to the heartbeat, and then ask questions, and that's about it!
But, Mike and I just finished our Childbirth Preparation classes. They were pretty cool--lots of really nice future first-time parents going through the same things as we are. The teacher was really funny, and cool too--as she would say a little "Berekeley", but very open and luckily not too "out there".
We did some really cool exercises like holding ice in our hands and using different strategies to cope with the pain. Mike and I passed with flying colors-neither of us cheated and we both found that we were able to withstand the pain best when we stared into each other's eyes--really surprising to both of us... I know how romantic huh? Hopefully the same strategy will work during "the real thing"!! Who knows... After some of the videos we saw in the classes, Mike has decided that he wants to be really involved with the birth and wants to cut the cord, but would also like to help catch the baby! We'll see...
Oh also since summer started I have had lots of time to get the baby's room ready--it looks really cute, if I do say so myself!! Very light green/yellow walls, with a very creamy white on the ceiling-cool green paisley curtains (from Cost Plus), an awesome glider chair and ottoman (a gift from my dad), and 3 hand-painted canvases of bugs (a dragonfly, a butterfly, and a bee) painted by me!! I'll try to get a picture of the room up soon, I promise!
Anyway-thanks for listening to me ramble on here! Hope you are well --Lots of love from us!!
