Baby's Room so far...

One of our neighbors saw the baby room for the 1st time yesterday and said it was like walking into a plant. Yes, it is very green-it's also the coolest room in the house, which is awesome. I love being in there, its very fresh and calming...just waiting for the crib bedding, which I already ordered, and then just some finishing details like diaper pail (yuk), and I am sure other things I will think of later...
Angie

Hello again-

Finally got our old camera working, since I lost our new one, and thought I'd send more pictures. Mike and I went on a drive along the coast over the weekend. We went from Half Moon Bay to Santa Cruz and made a few stops along the way.

Our first stop was Pomponio Beach, about 10 miles from Half Moon Bay on Hwy 1. It was a gorgeous day, totally clear, and warm.

In Santa Cruz we met up with our friend Anna and had some nachos and virgin margaritas at a Mexican restaurant and sat outside to enjoy the gorgeous weather!! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend as well!! Angie, Mike & baby

I know the picture is a bit dark, but its the only one I have right now. I lost our camera...and that is why there haven't been any pictures on here for a while.

Anyway, this picture is from Sunday at AIDS Walk SF 2007. I decided to walk this year for Mike's dad Mel, who died of HIV/AIDS about 12 years ago. This was my first year doing it and surprisingly it was the most successful California AIDS walk to date-over 25, 000 walkers and more than 4.5 million dollars raised for AIDS research. A pretty staggering dollar ammount-I am proud to have been a part of it, and hope to make it a yearly event--adding baby and hopefully Mikey next year!

So as you can see baby is growing... I have another Dr. appt today, don't know how much I weigh these days, but at this point I really don't want to know!! Dr. appts these days are pretty uneventful, we just listen to the heartbeat, and then ask questions, and that's about it!

But, Mike and I just finished our Childbirth Preparation classes. They were pretty cool--lots of really nice future first-time parents going through the same things as we are. The teacher was really funny, and cool too--as she would say a little "Berekeley", but very open and luckily not too "out there".

We did some really cool exercises like holding ice in our hands and using different strategies to cope with the pain. Mike and I passed with flying colors-neither of us cheated and we both found that we were able to withstand the pain best when we stared into each other's eyes--really surprising to both of us... I know how romantic huh? Hopefully the same strategy will work during "the real thing"!! Who knows... After some of the videos we saw in the classes, Mike has decided that he wants to be really involved with the birth and wants to cut the cord, but would also like to help catch the baby! We'll see...

Oh also since summer started I have had lots of time to get the baby's room ready--it looks really cute, if I do say so myself!! Very light green/yellow walls, with a very creamy white on the ceiling-cool green paisley curtains (from Cost Plus), an awesome glider chair and ottoman (a gift from my dad), and 3 hand-painted canvases of bugs (a dragonfly, a butterfly, and a bee) painted by me!! I'll try to get a picture of the room up soon, I promise!

Anyway-thanks for listening to me ramble on here! Hope you are well --Lots of love from us!!

I know--its been forever since I posted, and now is the time when the most is changing... but I have some really good pictures on the way from one of my showers (actually an Anti-shower), but there are so many it takes a long time to upload them...so unfortunately, you'll have to wait a little longer...

First and foremost Baby Stewart is a mover and a shaker...he's constantly moving, kicking, flipping, and making my whole belly shutter... I don't really know what he's doing in there, but he's not sleeping much, I know that...Speaking of sleeping, its not happening much for me these days-its hard to find a comfortable position, and sleeping on my sides is getting old! I usually end up getting up really early just to get more comfortable. Usually I am so stiff, after getting up-that I stretch for a while, to make walking easier.

Childbirth Prep. classes start this Saturday-should be interesting....I am spending a lot of time getting his room ready-I think I've got pretty much everything, except curtains...we've been able to buy lots of organic stuff-bedding, mattress, etc. from a store in Oregon called Blue Horizon, which is really cool-we've found that its really reasonably price also.

I have had 3 AWESOME baby shower get-togethers so far- One with my close friends from high school, one with some friends from SF, and another with friends from my school... only one more left with friends and family.... I decided to have 4 small and more intimate showers where everyone knows each other and there is not separate groups of people who are not aquainted... and it has worked out really well. I am so lucky to have so many great friends, and such an awesome family who are supporting us through this whole experience!!

Happy 4th to all of you and I promise to send pictures as soon as I get some good ones!!

Love-

Angie, Mike and Baby
