Has it really been THAT long since I updated and sent pictures? Man time flies when you are uber busy!! Well it looks like winter might finally be over in the Bay Area...we have had some unseasonably rainy Spring weather, which we know we needed, but still--its been hard to endure! But we've now had a week with no rain, and we're enjoying some nice warm weather!
Reid update!! Reid is now 13 1/2 months. He is now a full time walker--no more crawling--he had been taking steps for a long time, but still resorted to crawling for speed. Now he's just as fast walking-so he's made the switch! He is such a great boy--loves to sing, "ba ba black sheep", adores any and all stuffed animals, obsessed with balls/throwing them and chasing them, will sit and cuddle (love that), and has a smile that can just light up a room...He loves to say "hi" and "hola" and "bye bye" to everyone he sees when we're out. Actually both boys are super friendly and say hi to lots of random people when we're out...anyone that they make eye contact with basically!
Rowan update!! Rowan is going to be 3 in September , can't believe that! He is doing great, loves to sing (he probably knows 25 songs by heart) and listen to music, still loves anything with wheels, trains are the favorite, but he loves firetrucks, cars, and big trucks too! Every time we're in the car, he points out his favorite cars, all the trains, ambulances, policeman cars, etc. It gets a bit tiring, but we try to act excited :) Rowan is doing pretty well with having a younger brother, its been a big adjustment, and we're still working on sharing, and being gentle with Reid. But they do really love each other. Every time Rowan wakes up, he's excited to go get "Reidi" up. He wants Reid to do everything with him and follow him everywhere. Its very cute!
Recent excursions--a couple of weekends ago, we went on the Niles River Canyon railroad!! Its an historic train that takes you through a really pretty canyon, right next to a meandering creek, surrounded by green hills on one side and lush green trees on the other. We sat in an outdoor car and Rowan was in heaven. Reid is kind of scared of being trains, but he was a trooper, and got used to it by the end. We were joined by our friends Carol, and Kendall, and had a great time. Also went swimming at a local pool a couple of days ago. The boys love the water, I think Reid was just in heaven that he could splash all he wanted...we just signed up for a 2 week water appreciation class for all of us--We'll go 4 days a week for 2 weeks from 5:00-5:30pm, I think we'll all really enjoy it!! Also had a visit yesterday with Mike's aunt and uncle from Holland! Uncle David and Aunt Adele came over for a visit, the boys really liked them and were all smiles--they especially like the cool animal matching cards they brought!! Oh--one other adventure, we went up to Sacramento to visit Mike's brother Chris and his family!! Rowan loves his aunt and uncle and his cousins Jack and Auggie--plus they have a bunny, a pond, a jacuzzi, a pool table, and a fun dog. The boys were in heaven!! Here are some pictures!!
Soon we'll be off to SoCal for a visit with the family!! First time on a plane for Reid, and 1st in a long time for Rowan (he probably doesn't remember the 3 rides he had before he was 1). We're staying right on the beach and will probably spend a lot of time in the water, can't wait!
Love, Angie--Mike--Rowan--and Reid
