Hello all-
Again it has been too long since I've postet, but the summer went too fast, and now things are busy because I went back to work again, and we're getting used to our new routine! We just got back from Rowan's first birthday party!! It was a joint party with 3 of his baby friends. All of the families met through Kaiser's Baby and Me group that the moms attended until the babies were one. Rowan, Will, Ivy and Tyler were all born within a couple of weeks of each other and Ivy and Tyler were actually born on the same day at the same hospital. We had a big crowd of probably 50-60 people at Dimond Park, in Oakland in the midst of a ring of redwoods. We had lots of chicken, hotdogs and dishes that people brought to share....and last but not least a huge carrot cake with 4 big candles for the one year olds! Lots of fun was had by all, Rowan loved the cake, and will probably love it even more when he gets a huge piece on his highchair tray on his realy birthday, Sept. 10th.

Rowan now goes to an at-home Day Care, called Stephanie's in the Oakland Hills. Stephanie is an older Greek woman who started caring for children 25 years ago, now her daughter and her husband work with her, and they hire another woman to help too, it is really a "family" place, and Rowan really loves it there! He's always sad when I leave, he's the first one there, but he's always happy when I come back. He takes good naps there as well, which is one thing I was kind of worried about.

Well, we always said we thought he'd be walking by his 1st birthday and sure enough.... He's walking!! Kinda looks like Frankenstein with the arms out straight in front of him, but he's doing it---really unstable still...I think the other kids at Stephanie's inspired him, he's the youngest one and the only one who was still crawling when he started! Rowan is sleeping like a champ now, up to 12 hours a night, and just takes one nap now usually, although today, after the birthday party, he totally crashed... I was able to get him out of the car and into the crib w/out waking him up!

He's eating mostly finger foods now, likes quesadillas, yogurt, tomatoes, melon and most fruit, peas, carrots, green beans, tofu, squash and his favorite is still sweet potatoes! Grandma Green came up a couple of weeks ago and gave him ice cream for the first time--he loved that too! He also now is on regular cow's milk. As always he is a joy and so much fun to watch grow, we can't wait until he starts talking now!! He did start saying "choo, choo" the other day, that's cute!

Anyway, hope all is well with all of you, take care and oh one last bit of info., we're expecting baby number 2 in April, right around Mike and his twin brother James' birthday April 20th. We are very excitedly awaiting our new arrival...they'll be about 1 year 8 months apart. Love, Angie, Mike, Rowan, and peanut
